The Illinois State Alliance of YMCAs proudly announces a dynamic collaboration with the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA), aimed at promoting youth sports participation and creating pathways for young people to explore careers in sports-related fields. Under the statewide theme, “The Dream Starts Here,” this partnership emphasizes a shared commitment to strengthening communities and helping young people find the power in themselves.
This collaboration brings together the resources and expertise of YMCAs across Illinois, the IHSA, and the IESA to inspire a new generation of leaders and athletes by promoting participation in youth sports statewide. Additionally, the initiative encourages young people to consider jobs and volunteer opportunities at the Y where they can gain valuable skills and hands-on experience to pursue career pathways in sports-related fields like coaching, officiating, and sports administration.
Illinois YMCAs Statewide 2Ball Tournament
IL YMCAs are encouraged to join the statewide 2Ball competition. Participants will "Shoot for State" in local competitions. Top scoring teams in each age and gender bracket compete in the final round held during the IHSA State Basketball Championships in March of 2026.
